The government has allotted a residence at Ministers' Enclave to Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) former Justice Javed Iqbal due to threats to his life. Sources said that intelligence agencies had earlier issued security threat alerts against the NAB chairman and he was advised to avoid unnecessary movement. There were serious security concerns over the movement of Bureau's chairman from his Rawalpindi residence to NAB Headquarters, they added.
They said that the agencies also informed the chairman about threats to his life.
Earlier in July last year, the NAB was threatened with a bomb attack on its headquarters after it had launched investigation into the mega corruption scams. However, the chairman asserted that the department was not afraid of such threats, adding that NAB would continue to perform its duties with dedication.
